MAKING HEADLINES

Designed for Print

Student-designed magazine cover titled “[magazine title],” featuring [main subject or illustration], [color palette], and editorial headlines arranged with strong typography and visual hierarchy. Created using Adobe Illustrator and [photography or original Photoshop artwork] and prepared for professional printing. Crop marks, registration marks, color bars, and other printer’s marks surround the finished cover.

Students created original magazine covers that combine imaginative concepts with the structure of professional editorial design. Using photography, digital illustration, or original Photoshop artwork, they developed attention-grabbing covers featuring mastheads, headlines, cover lines, and strong focal imagery. Through contrast, repetition, alignment, proximity, typography, and visual hierarchy, students learned to organize information while establishing a distinctive publication identity. Each design was prepared as a camera-ready PDF with crop marks and printer’s marks, taking the project from creative concept to press-ready artwork.
